Love bird is one of the most affectionate pet there is. Many people acquire love birds as pets, which makes into some loving ones. They usually live in relatively small flocks and like to eat vegetables, fruit, grasses and seed like many other parrot species. The average lifespan for a typical lovebird is 10 to 15 years, during the time they are kept as pets, and are selectively bred in aviculture. They are normally 13 to 17 cm in length and range between 40 to 60 grams accounting for weight. This characterizes them as one of the smallest parrots in the whole parrot species in the world.

Love birds are characterized as having a stocky build, a short tail, and quite a large and quite sharp beak. Lovebirds are mostly green but also have a variety of colors on their body. This can also be due to the fact that many color mutants of Lovebirds have been produced through selective breeding. All in all they are a great animal of nature and make great pets.
